Confidentiality & Privacy Policy:
The law protects the relationship between a therapist and client. Information cannot be disclosed by therapist without the written consent from client. Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or adult / elder abuse. I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s) or him / herself. In the event of threatening to harm another person, I am required by law to notify the police and inform the intended victim. If a client intends to harm him / herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in maintaining their safety. If the individual chooses to not cooperate, I will take all necessary precautions to ensure the individual stays safe and receives the proper mental health attention that they need from the appropriate community resources.
